Jacquelyn McAnelly Receives the HBA’s Presidential Award

Jacquelyn D. McAnelly is the recipient of the Houston Bar Association’s President’s Award for Outstanding Service as Co-Chair of the Gender Fairness Committee for 2018-2019.

AwardThe Gender Fairness Committee examines issues related to gender fairness in the legal profession and develops programs that provide a forum for the discussion of issues related to gender fairness, including seminars and networking opportunities. The committee promotes awareness of these issues within the profession and encourages law firms and corporate legal departments to sign the “Gender Initiative Commitment Statement.”

The Committee presented 5 events for the 2018-2019 Bar year. In November 2018, the committee presented a panel speaking on “Men as Mentors: the Importance of Sponsorship.” In March, the Committee co- sponsored “An Afternoon with Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg.” In April 2019, the Committee hosted Linda Addison who discussed her “12 Principles for Life and Law Practice.” On May 2, 2019, the Gender Fairness Committee hosted its last event, a judicial panel with Justice Eva Guzman, Judge Lee Rosenthal, Judge Belinda Hill  and Judge Sylvia Matthews on “Balancing the Scales: A Discussion about Gender Parity on the Bench.” Jacquelyn received the award at the Houston Bar Association’s Annual Dinner on May 16, 2019.

CRG Hires Ramille Law as a Summer Clerk for the MOILP Program for Summer 2018

Cersonsky, Rosen & García, P.C. is participating in the Minority Opportunities in the Legal Profession (MOILP) 1L Summer Clerkship Program for a third year and is employing a second Clerk for the summer, Ramille Law. Ramille has a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of St. Thomas. She is attending South Texas College of Law Houston, and the firm is excited to have her for the summer.

The Minority Opportunities in the Legal Profession (MOILP) 1L Summer Clerkship Program is offered through the Houston Bar Association. It provides diverse 1L students an opportunity for clerkship at a law firm, corporate legal department or legal nonprofit organization.

CRG Hires Erika Bustamante as a Summer Clerk for the MOILP Program for Summer 2018

Erika has a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Global Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. She is attending the University of Houston Law Center, and the firm is excited to have her for the summer.

CRG Hires Cynthia Adjain as a Summer Clerk for the MOILP Program for Summer 2017

Cersonsky, Rosen & García, P.C. is participating in the Minority Opportunities in the Legal Profession (MOILP) 1L Summer Clerkship Program for a second year and is employing Cynthia Adjain as a Clerk at the firm. Cynthia is from the Ivory Coast and has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (Pre-Law) and Spanish  from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and a Maters of Public Health from Northeastern University. She is in the part time program at University of Houston Law Center, and the firm is excited to have her for the summer.

CRG Attorney, Marianne G. Robak, Participates in International Women’s Day Panel with Josh Levs and Gloria Feldt

On March 8, 2017, International Women’s Day, our Senior Associate, Marianne G. Robak attended the 2017 HERWorld Energy Forum where she was on a panel with Josh Levs, former CNN news correspondent and author of All In, where they discussed women in leadership and gender parity in the workplace. The panel moderator was Gloria Feldt, founder of Take the Lead Women and author of No Excuses: Nine Ways Women Can Change How We Think About Power.
